by Harold R Jacobs Jacob’s Algebra is a wonderful algebra text for the intellectual student. It develops a good conceptual understanding of topics and is full of interesting applications. Still some may find the text lacks the bright color and flash of the UCSMP series. For the student who is motivated by such presentations, the Jacob text is a solid supplement.
